The molten protodermis pipes have been badly damaged by the quake, resulting in flooding of some areas by the dangerous substance. This, in turn, has weakened the foundations of buildings. Those not already flattened by the quake are now in constant danger of collapse. Fire and smoke fills the metru, the result of shattered foundries and forges.
