The Toa Hordika are the result of the Toa Metru being injected with Hordika venom: half-Toa, half-Rahi. The Toa Hordika have a tendency to act and think like Rahi and have problems remaining focused on their mission - saving the Matoran.

Half Toa, half monster, Matau must decide between saving the Matoran and saving himself. His fang blades can slice through webs and cables, as well as charge up his Rhotuka wind spinner.

The nearly mythical rahi Keetongu turned the Toa Hordika back into Toa Metru.
